Good sailing base in Cental Adriatic

Hello,

We have a 46' sailing yacht which is currently moored in Izola, Slovenia and we enjoy very much the area of Istria.

Next year (around May-June) we plan to sail south and stay a year or more in the central Adriatic coast of Croatia, possibly the area between Zadar & Split.

Can anyone recommend (preferably from experience) a good marina to shelter the boat for the year as a home base for the area?

Please take care the following criteria:
1. Shelter - particularly from Bora.
2. Centrality and proximity to good sailing areas
3. Marina support, security and facilities.
4. Marina proximity to major cities and airports.
5. Price.
