Gloucester Ma beer invite

I'm solo this weekend. Have a couple of projects to do (if the o'rings arrive tomorrow) and then am kind of planning to head to Gloucester. I have a very practical reason for going to Gloucester, BEER!!! My bad knee makes it a challenge to walk into Salem to Beerworks, but in Gloucester I can take the dingy right to ramp at Cape Ann Brewery. Plus I have growler (64oz) that I can fill for $7.50 (just an unbelievable deal).

So I invite CF members to meet me there for a beer, or 6. (I plan to anchor in the inner harbor)

Wish I could, but I can't.. have fun! (Thanks for the tip on the brewery. I've had their beer before , and it's quite good.)

No takers. Maybe it's me, what if I say that I wouldn't really show up and you can drink the beer without me?

Re: Gloucester Ma beer invite

What a great idea.....unfortunately I am at the opposite end of the east coast, but what a great idea to invite fellow CF members to a good pub for a beer and meet.

Anyone interested in the Orange Beach/Pensacola area?

Was there last week, great town! FYI, if you're planning on passing through the Blynman Canal though. We were going through that way until we approached RT 128 bridge and happened to notice the big sign on the bridge saying that the 65' bridge clearance (Our air draft is 64'.) has been temporarily lowered by 5' during repairs. So, a quick U-turn was in order!

Hmmm... 64oz for $7.50. A 6-pack is 72 oz and costs me from $6.50 to $9 depending on the brand and store (cases are a bit cheaper) AND I can remain antisocial on the boat.

In Michigan too, Grand Rapids - Beer City USA - really. More craft brewers per capita than any other place in the USA.

Have fun & come here for a pub inspection sometime.

Many more have opened since this decisive win. Come for the bicycle pub-crawl.

We sailed to Houghton/Hancock, Lake Superior last summer. The beer business in Michigan is fantastic. We found at least one craft brewer in every tiny port we visited. Marquette has three. Most are within short walking time from the marinas & harbors. Try Lake Superior Brewing in Grand Marais - if you can find it.

Great town- was there from 1985-91, then again from 98-2000 as an engineer for Varian (and part time charter captain on our boat). We had the only sailboat chartering business (on our previous Pearson 35) out of Gloucester from 1986-91. Many 6 hour charters never left the harbor- there is SO much to see! Watch out for the lobsta pots, of course, and the cut bridge (Blynman) can have a 5 knot current and standing waves, and it is only 35' wide... Enjoy- wish we were there for the beer!!
