Gill Foulies

We bought our foulies from Defender almost 15 years ago, Gill Coastal. There served their purpose admirably and then my little boy developed health problems and we had to lay our cruising dreams aside and the foulies ended up in the back of the closet adjacent to our dreams.
Things are better now and we're getting back into boats, so out come the foulies after 10 years in the dark. Umm, problem. The rubberized cuffs are delaminating and basically unusable. We call Gill USA and they're felling pretty casual about the whole thing, no prob, just send them in and they'll take care of it, lifetime guarantee.
We sent them in a couple of months ago and there wasn't any confirmation at all. We waited impatiently.
Today, guess what?
BRAND SPANKIN NEW FOULIES ARRIVED! NEW!
They're way better than what we bought initially. The newer models are now made of the nice supple breathable fabric that we couldn't afford in the first place and they're all clean and everything!
Thanks Gill, my next foulies will come from you as well.

Wow.

I hope somebody at Gill is reading this and says, "Money well spent", (good advertising).

Thanx for sharing.

I recently bought Gill. Now I am more glad than ever that I did.

I like my Gill stuff. I have just about worn out my Key West jacket, which despite its "coastal" rating has been well up to all kinds of offshore, rough weather, cold weather use. I have a motley kit of foul weather gear (in motley colors to boot), with a little bit of everything -- Musto, XM, what have you. The Musto stuff is good (especially love my Musto Ocean Goretex sea boots) but the Gill stuff is special. Great story; great publicity and well deserved.
