Nah. Can't be. He must want something for that. The Yanmar is practically brand new!

Re: FREE, or close to free!

You could pick it up and do something like this family is doing in one.

MaineBristol another surveyor I know picked up a similar yacht here in Oz with an almost new Yanmar diesel for $2000. The owner needed the yacht gone ASAP as he needed the berth for his new boat. So it can happen.
Cheers

Re: FREE, or close to free!

I've sent him a text. I love my B32, but I know people who could put that to good use. The thing is, somebody after the main chance will come along and take it for the ballast and the engine. And that would suck.

I picked up a Paceship 29 in Toronto the exact same way. The owner had a new boat arriving and needed the slip immediately. Paid $100 to make it legal. Sailed it home 150 miles on Lake Ontario with my 2 little kids. Yes, needed lots of cleanup and minor repair, but we were sailing (and motoring) on day 1. Spent several weeks cleaning, painting, cleaning, fixing...and a little bit more cleaning. The biggest job was pulling up all the shag carpeting and painting the floor (below). Had a few other minor issues but overall a decent boat and we had a ton of fun sailing it. Of course it wasn't really free, since I spent a ton at the boat store, including a new (origo) stove and a new cradle, just to mention a couple of the bigger items.

Great work! This is a great time for people to get in to sailing with sweat equity, if they know what they’re about. Thanks for sharing.

Going the other way from the Pearson...

https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/b...978600049.html

at 1150, a seemingly hot deal on a MacGregor, if that’s your thing. Comes with a 60 hp motor so it looks like the “x”. Idk. Cheaper than usual.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

This is the kind of thing that really pisses me off. Why let a boat rot in your yard? At the least, give it to a charity!

It's a beauty too. (potentially!) The only thing that I see is that open hatch, and since theres no ladder I'm assuming it's been left open to the weather for a while. Still worth a look imo.
