Re: FREE, or close to free!
CS27 $2,500 cdn ($2,000 usd), yanmar, tiller, freshwater, in Toronto Canada (Lake Ontario).
This looks like a good boat at a give-away price. The CS27 is a well known, well made boat with a good reputation.

From the ad:
CS27 for sale.
Great sailing boat and good condition for her age.
Yanmar YSE8 inboard. Starts straight away and runs well.
Sails in good condition.
Origo 4100 stove.

I'd call him up and see what you can work out. There might be some sort of arrangement that you could make.

hunter sail boat FREE (Charleston SC)
Okay, so there's not a whole lot of information or a picture on this one, but it's a free Hunter and supposedly you have everything you need to sail it. You just have to figure out how to move it. Maybe worth checking out if you're in the area.

Project boat. Free ($10) boat hull with a possible generator. Maybe an electric conversion.

I dare say that is a Soverel 39 and would probably be a lot of fun even without and engine. Sails would be pricey though.

I am curious about that one. If it really is a 42 that may be quite a find since Sailboatdata doesn't show Soverel making a 42, especially in 1980. Still replacing rigging and sails may be why it's been left out to decay. I wonder if it has rod rigging and a triple spreader rig?

It looks like the 39 by coach lines . I think it was just poorly measured .
The stern has however been reworked no sugar scoop now
