This is tragic and heartbreaking. At best it will have been traumatic and terrifying for the parents and cause much reflection on their plans. I truly wish them the best and send good wishes their way.

Namaste

I'm really ashamed thinking about Rebel Heart reading some posts here in a time...

To all on the other side of the pond - Please post here any new links to the news.
You just know better where to look. We are several thousands miles away, but we are both with Beata at our laptops searching and searching for news from Pacific...

The US Coast Guard and military have great capabilities. Hope the little girl is ok.

The rescue is being tweeted in pretty much real time by the Air Guard of California. Their tag is @129RQW. Here is a link: https://twitter.com/search?q=%40129RQW

Rebel Heart can take it! He'll just consider the source and power up.

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico

Sobering news. We completed a 600 nautical mile passage with a small child in board today. The only others we saw for several days was a USCG plane. Bless them. Gave me a little comfort.

Sailing with small children is tough. Very tough. Harder when they are sick and one or more of the parents is sick. Try to hold your fire unless you have tried to do it yourself. Ask yourself what you would have done.

They did everything right. They put the safety of the child before their dream. They had the means to contact rescue authorities and communicate with them. They are safe. Brave decision to push the red button.

I've got your back, letsgetsailing3.
Like many others here, I have been following their blog for some time. My best wishes for a safe return for all on board as well as the vessel.

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico

My hat's off to the men and women of the US Air National Guard and US Navy. The latest article I read says they are out of danger and things are looking much better for Rebel Heart's sailing family. It's always nice to see a sailing community come together in support of the family, Eric, Charlotte, Cora and Lyra Kaufman. It appears that nothing was lost except the miles... happy sailing Rebel Heart; may fair winds and following seas favor all your journeys.
