We've never had a problem docking our 49 ft trawler at the Rod and Gun Club. The dock may look decrepit but it has been there a long time, with a lot of different boats tied up there. The interior of the club is a hoot, sort of a time warp going way back to Florida's early years.

Have docked my cat there, 3.5' draft, a couple of times with no problems, but that was over a decade ago. Very interesting historic place.

Very nice documentation and photos, Sumner. We did much of the same last spring and will return in Feb/March from Key Largo to Charlotte Harbor. My apprehension at the Rod & Gun Club was mostly due to approaching by dinghy ay low tide. There was no way to scale the bulkhead. We may give it another try.
