Florida to Newfoundland

Hello everyone, this is my first post, and I am not sure if I have it posted in right area. Forgive me If I don't.

I am looking at buying a 1989 Morgan 41 Classic from Northern Florida, and was wondering what the best way to get it back home would be. I have alot of coastal experience, and I have a friend with a fair amount of offshore experience on the trip. I think I have 3 options for this cruise, a) ICW (Scenic but Slow), b) Following the coastline, up to 30 miles off coast to be able to get in if hurricane is forcast. c) Offshore Head out to Bermuda then on to Newfoundland. Oh BTW, I have 3 weeks to do this trip in. However, If I discovered I would run over, will be able to make alternative arrangements, IE put up boat for season and fly home, to return in spring to continue.
I am interested in any opinion, comments or tips to help with this trip plan.
PS. I am planning on getting Full suite of survey's (Hull,Mechanical,Electrical, Rigging) done before departing appropriate provisioning, including cruising guides, charts, echarts etc, and will sail her for several days before heading offshore if that is our decision.

I would not buy a boat in Fl and then set out offshore for Newfoundland without sailing that boat for a few weeks no matter how many surveyors have said good things about it. Your best bet is to take short hops up the coast until Norfolk and then head out offshore for Newfoundland. This'll give you a good chance to shake the boat down. Might take a little longer but you'll have an opportunity to fix the things that the surveyors didn't catch. Three weeks is a bit unrealistic time frame.

Was wondering where you are taking it to in Newfoundland, and have you acquired a crew, or are you doing this single handed.

Assuming you don't find any reasons on your shakedown sails not to go offshore, would recommend finding the Gulf Stream and riding it as far as you can; wouldn't be so far offshore you couldn't duck-in if a TS comes along, and would fit your three week goal. I would think heading to Bermuda would be kinda outta the way.
