First Time Bareboat Charter. Where would you recommend?

A quick update question. This has morphed a little bit.

It appears that we will be invited to a destination wedding in the USVI's (specific location TBD)

Someone earlier pointed out that due to check in requirements its easier to charter in BVI and travel to USVI rather than vise versa. Did I understand that correctly?

Are there any problems with charter companies if we go from BVI to USVI and return?
What about check in requirements in USVI?

What dates? We are still in the Dark Time when COVID ravaged the Earth. Might put a crimp on border crossings.

Assuming COVID is contained by then, one way to get to the BVI is non stop to St Martin and the island Hopper (LIAT) to Tortola BVI. BVI offer several Chartering options and from my observations, it is the better place to start a charter. It is a pain checking out of the BVI and in to the USVI though. Best place in the BVI to check in and out from is Jost Van Dyke. Road Town is a nightmare. West end not as bad. Check in to the USVI is usually easy. Moorings/Sunsail are always good to deal with especially from the US or Canada.
