Forgot to mention to the new
delivery captain: No limited liability company (LLC) or Nevada corporation will protect you from personal liability if you personally provide the
service, which is what a
delivery captain does. You are a personal
service entity and only insurance will help you if you personally cause, or are partially responsible for a loss or
accident. LLC's and corporations only provide liability protection for a business owner if the business produces a product that, by itself, can create a liability, like the manufacture of say children's' toys. Or if you have employees who can cause a loss or injury to others. If a business owner only owns stock in a company the corporate form will protect against personal liability of the stock owner. But if the business owner also is and officer or director of a corporation there still is exposure. That's were insurance comes in again.
