Re: Figure out this sail rig
It’s a “wishbone” mast.
A Boeing engineer, the late Fred Greenway, designed two of these vessels, the "ORCA" & "RELENTLESS".

Interesting, the boat itself looks like Thursday's Child.

Re: Figure out this sail rig
You can just make out on the stern that it's "RELENTLESS".

Re: Figure out this Sail Rig
Thanks Gord. But if that is a wishbone what is this as shown in the picture?
Of course there are also the Hinterhollers.
I'd imagine that since the subject is spars and the loads imposed to say they are variants of one another is insufficient.

Re: Figure out this Sail Rig
The first boat pictured is a Delta rig.

I'd call that rig in post number 6 an a-frame mast with a wishbone boom.

Re: Figure out this Sail Rig
I wonder what the efficiency of such a low aspect ratio foresail might be going to windward, and how one would cut it. Anyone know about such things?

The rig in the OP has only one furling sail. Performance very similar to a lateen rig, as OP suggested. Google delta rig sailboat.

See what happens when you let the engineers play with the rigging?
