External Rectifier

Hi Friends
Using the winter to learn up on all things electrical.
Got around to Alternators and am aware of the benefits
of external regulators. In doing on line doodling around I stumbled
on a device called “Quicktifier” which is an external rectifier
able to be connected to any alternator. The claim is
increased power output and longer life by adding external diodes.
I have never seen this device mentioned here or
anyplace else.
So wondering if any here can chime in on this thing and concept.
So much to learn
Cheers
Neil

Re: External Rectifier

For really high output alternators external rectifiers remove the heat from the alternator. They’re sold as part of some high end kits....I can’t for the life of me remember who at the moment.

Re: External Rectifier

I don't know alot about external rectifiers but I do wonder why more of us don't use them, the small case high output alternators suffer from heat, resulting in being inconsistent with what they put out. A external rectifier sounds like it's a answer to this problem?
