Dinghy/RIB wheel recommendation?

Planning to head south from Enesenada, perhaps to Florida. I have a AB 310 AL RIB with 15hp Tohatsu. Looking for recommendations for wheels to beach the dinghy. I see Defender has THESE but wondering if anyone can recommend a better option. Thanks in advance -

Not a fan of the type you linked. They are clumsy to operate and you'll just end up not using them, and when you do be careful they puncture easily.

Imho you cant beat

Just added to my purchase list. Thank you!

Has anyone used these with a heavy (center console) dinghy?

I wholeheartedly second the recommendation for Beachmaster wheels. We loved them on our 3.4m Highfield with a 15hp outboard.

I ordered a set too. Similar price to the Defender model and clearly more sturdy by a lot.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Re: Dinghy/RIB wheel recommendation?

We have had a set of the Beachmaster wheels for several years. Ours have the studs on the dinghy transom so that they can be easily removed when not needed. We are quite happy with them. We carry two outboards for our dinghy, a 3.5 hp 2 cycle Tohatsu and a 8 hp 2 cycle Nissan. The wheels work best with the lighter weight outboard. The additional weight of the larger motor and its separate fuel tank often sinks the wheels into the sand on soft beaches.

My dinghy is ~450 lbs and my outboard is ~225 lbs (approx. total with fuel ~700 lbs). Would these wheels not work for me?

My Beachmaster tires are 4.10/3.50-4 and are about 3 inches across the tread and 10 inches in diameter.

Re: Dinghy/RIB wheel recommendation?

I have a set of Danard DW-3 wheels and all mounting hardware that I will be posting in the classifieds next week when I get home from this holiday weekend. Functionally I found them to be exceptional, but they didn't fit my needs to pull my dinghy up over the dunes to my house. Check them out at Danard Marine and see if they would suit you.

It appears my dinghy is too heavy for either Beachmaster or Danards. Did a search on the forums and found this post which references SeaLegs. Does anyone know of an aftermarket product that has 3 manually attachable wheels and could be used for beaching (before anyone sarcastically recommends a trailer)?

I have the same dinghy. The transom is hollow aluminum. How do you plan to seal it so no water intrusion?

Re: Dinghy/RIB wheel recommendation?

Be careful, the width of the tires and apparatus can be no wider than the gap between the outboard motor (at its port and starboard swing limits) and the extended parts of the dinghy tubes. Some clearance is needed. Also, dragging a heavy (700 lb) dinghy UP a sloped beach even in the absence of the wheels sinking into the sand involves a war with gravity.

Our other trick is to drop an anchor off the beach attached to the dinghy stern with a long bungee cord, thus in the end leaving the dinghy floating between an anchor on the beach and the stern anchor. When it is time to leave, the bungee will yank the dinghy out of the beach waves and into deeper water. I replaced the steel hardware with stainless.

Only the motor mount bracket is doubled. The rest of the transom is single, and very nicely constructed. What I may have an issue with is the welded eyes for securing to deck interfere.
