Diesel Powered Boat Heater Warning

Watch out. Make sure you inflatable is not tied to your boat in the water when you start your heater. The exhaust from my Eberspacer heater burned an ugly big hole in my Plastimo tender. It could have easily started a fire which would have been goodbye to tender then big boat then marina and anything within 10 meters.

And, watch that your exhaust doesn't blow on your dock lines or power cords.

A few things to think about:

If you exhaust to one side, you'll never be able to raft or dock to that side in winter.
If you exhaust high on the stern, you'll never be able to keep a dink on davits nearby.
If you allow a professional installer to decide where to put the exhaust, he'll put it where it's best for him, but worst for you.

Re: Diesel Powered Boat Heater Warning

the same applies for emptying the barbeque coals over the side after a boozy evening on anchor...........makes a hell of a mess of an inflatable........

Nonsense.

My eber water heater exhause is adacent to both the port engine exhaust and the generator exhaust. They all exhaust out to port aound the fwd end of the canoe steps.

I dock port side to.

I dont have any problems.
