Smart choice, the Pacific was horrible this year. My wife & I survived 2 storms & 5 gales before having damage rounding Point Conception off Calif. At Conception we found 45-50knts of wind & 12' confused sea's, was'nt fun, had to heave to for 9 hours. Then ran a double reefed main only making 9 knts hull speed. Now we have to haul out and have our Haida trucked back to Oregon. We counted 9 boats of 40' and larger receive major damage this year. My Haida out lasted many of these larger vessels and never took green water. The damage was fairly minor, but to expencive to repair in So. Calif.. Hope next year will be better for you. If you are going to round Point Conception, give me a yell prior, I know a better way learned from commerical fishermen. Crusing guides are dead wrong...........Michael.........

Winter weather isn't here yet, but it is coming early. A couple weeks ago we had 35knot winds with 50knot gusts (it wasn't a storm, just windy for a couple of days, happens about once a week in fall and winter)
from the S blowing up Puget Sound, that is fall weather, winter gets really exciting.

pnw gets it from japan via alaska and sends it to san diego and is really quite some stormy stuff---is as bad as tropical storms but COLD
i think i would rather have em warmer--i will find out in a coupla days....
