Cruising Menu Ideas
Hello!
I am putting together some fun meals to make while out cruising this year! One that I like to do in early summer is sushi made with bull kelp blades, shrimp or smoked salmon, cream cheese, sticky rice, avacado, carrot matchsticks, cucumber matchsticks, homemade marinated ginger strips, soy sauce, and wasabi!
What are some of your favorites!?

Re: Cruising Menu Ideas
Last year I focused on breads. Now even for hotdogs on the beach I make our own buns.
This years focus is homemade pasta. Right now I'm eating pot stickers(chinese pork dumplings)
that's the great thing about having time on your hands, play and create!

Re: Cruising Menu Ideas
I love homemade breads! I too make homemade hamburger and hotdog buns. I also make homemade tortillas and pizza crust. Everything is better homemade! We made homemade tamales for the first time with our kids recently. They were so great!

Goboatingnow -
Sounds tasty! What do u eat with your sashimi?
Do you catch your own fish? Where do you fish for tuna?
I'm new to fishing. I have only caught a few sharks. They make great fish and chips. England and France inspired me for this fish and chips made with shark recipe!

Re: Cruising Menu Ideas
StuM - it's super simple.
You buy fresh ginger and peel it. Then you thinly slice it. Next, fill a small saucepan with rice vinegar and put the ginger slices in. Add about 1/3 cup sugar and bring to a boil. Then turn down the heat and simmer for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool. Pour off the liquid and enjoy these wonderful ginger slices with your sushi! You can add more sugar if you like things sweeter.

Love the sweet taste of the rock crab, a little
More work to open and process but worth it.

Re: Cruising Menu Ideas
You know rock crab is so good if you can get really big ones. There is a surprising amount of meat in them! Do you grill or BBQ yours?
