Let's post our boats.

I was a Nav ET.

USS Thomas A. Edison SSBN 610 Blue, yard time plus 6 patrols. Finished up as instrutor at Advanced Sub School, Groton.

7 years total.
When I left active duty, I was a LT and the Damage Control Assistant (DCA) on USS John C. Calhoun SSBN 630 Blue. Retired Naval Reserves.

I believe the newer nuclear subs use natural circulation for reactor coolant flow and are very quiet. When listening passively for opposing submarines, the typical noise you pick up is rotating machinery at some particular frequency. If the frequency is stable (say powered from a regulated AC power source), it is a tool to monitor the movements of the target based on Doppler shift principals.

They can be, but even a reactor has limits before it needs a refill, so you don't really want to go zooming about everywhere because adding more atoms is tricky and very very expensive.

Yes there are, just not flagged US The Aussies with super diesel electric ran rings around NATO surface fleets during one lot of ex off Hawaii.

I found this yesterday and laughed like hell. "Let's go get drunk." Perfect reaction.

No but, hey, Russia, Russia, Russia.
