Question Coastal Cruising & Bareboat Chartering Courses in San Diego?

My wife and I are interested in taking the Coastal Cruising and Bareboat Chartering courses. I don’t have a preference towards US Sailing or ASA certifications (103/104), either one is fine. I’m looking for recommendations on sailing schools/instructors. Our long term goal is to do extended offshore cruising, so instructors who have experience sailing offshore and a passion for cruising are preferred.

Thanks in advance,

John

Re: Coastal Cruising & Bareboat Chartering Courses in San Diego?

My wife and I went through the ASA 101, 103 & 104 courses in San Diego. Did this through Marina Sailing. We managed to stay on 3 different boats learning to sail different sizes and see what it was like to stay aboard. Nothing but good things to say about them. Our instructor was Michael. Great laid back easy going guy that will teach you everything you need to know about those courses. SD bay is a great place to learn to sail except keep an eye out for those submarine pens and warships coming and going. They take their security VERY seriously.
