Hello Everyone,
I have been reading a lot on this forum about
buying a sailboat (thanks to everyone for there help), and in the process come across the topic of
circumnavigation. I find it absolutely fascinating, especially solo
circumnavigation. I am not thinking about doing it (at least anytime soon), but I was just curious about some general statistics. More specifically,
How many people try? How many people complete the trip?
How dangerous is it? Do a lot of people die trying?
Is solo considered a lot more dangerous than doing it with a partner?
I know many people would consider this undertaking "crazy" or even "reckless", but how does it rank with other things like climbing Mount Everest, Base Jumping, and other "crazy" things to do? I couldn't find this information compiled anywhere, and though other newbies like me might be interested. Anyway, just curious, and who knows, I might do it someday.
