They told me they charged me 50% off list price.


When I got home checked on web site and they CHARGED ME FULL PRICE.


Make sure you double check their bill.

I would go back and ask them to correct their mistake. If you can document your claim, I would be very surprised if they didn't try to make it right. I know a lot of people love to bash "Worst Marine", but my experience recently has been very good, IF you know what you want. Their new price matching policy is great and they have honored it for every purchase I have made in the last year. If I'm in the store, all I need to do is Google a product and if I find a lower price, they will honor it. On the other hand, don't assume all sales people know what they are talking about. They do their best to help, in some cases it was obvious that I knew more about a product than they did. But overall, I really like West Marine.

I second what Jerry said above. Their advertised prices are expensive, but they now price match anyone. Also, their return policy and customer service can’t be beat. I’m sure they’ll make it right if you go back and show them their mistake.

I have to agree. We made an expensive purchase of a couple of items on clearance last week. After the purchase I decided they wouldn't work for us & we got a refund with no questions asked. Having an actual bricks & mortar store that price matches the internet & accepts returns without question is a blessing. It looks to me like West Marine is doing everything right these days.

This. Stores like this have huge inventories, and everything is computerized. The cashier doesn't know the price of every item and what is on sale, they trust the computer. And sometimes, things don't get updated in the computer correctly. Any reputable store will be happy to fix it.

If you order something check to see if the sales tax percentage is correct for your address. I live in a rural area (7.9%) and the price they quote me is correct, just like all the other vendors I deal with. However, when I get billed the sales tax is for the large city nearby (10.1%). I call them and they then make the correction.

By price matching you will force the companies you are matching out of business and West will have the field to themselves. Unless you need something immediately buy from the lower priced store.

For what its worth, my experience with West has been uniformly positive. Mistakes are corrected and refunds/returns processed with a smile. If service might matter, best to pay a little more and shop there.

WM charges a bit more normally, a lot more sometimes, but I have always been happy with their service.

They certainly have a lot of boating accessories but a bit pricey!

Just remember that there are many Marine stores other than WORST MARINE,whose prices are usually at the top of the scale on most if not all of their products.

West has always tried to right any problem I've experienced as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Ive always been treated fairly by West Marine. They've never gave me grief about returns … and I have returned expensive items. Like others have said they now price match . . . I pull the price on the internet using my phone at the register and they match it no questions asked, no running around looking for a manager . . . everyone on site seems to have the power to do it.
