Bumping a 5 year old thread in hopes of Seeking information from owners of late 1970s early 1980s Staysail Yachts Ltd Herreshoff H28 sailboats. Any Staysail Yacht Ltd. Herreshoff H28 owners out there? It is my understanding Staysail Yachts Ltd. out of Huntington, NY produced their version of the H28 with an Airex cored hull. I would like to hear from owners concerning pros and cons of Staysail Yachts Ltd. version of Herreshoff's H28 and any specific problems related to this company's use of their Ariex cored hull. Thanks!

Apologies for commenting on an old thread but I AM SO EXCITED to find this thread!
My boyfriend and I now own this beautiful Herreshoff 28! We bought her back in February of this year, 2018!
We didn't get to hear the backstory on her so it is so interesting to read and see these photos!

Yep...that was my boat.
Janna spent 17 months on the hard while I extensively restored the hull.
I have photos and videos documenting the restoration. Fantastic boat.
My wife and I divorced and she sold you that boat. I never met the new owners. My wife probably had almost zero information to provide for the new owners. She wasn't involved with the project.
A friend in Boot Key harbor texted me several months ago that he thinks he recognizes her in the mooring field. If you ever make it to Key West I have tons of info to share with you over a cup of coffee. Probably too much to type.
