Cheapest place to keep my 40 foot boat in Southampton area.

Hello,

I may be the new owner of a 40 foot sailing boat (subject to survey) at the end of this week. The boat is currently in Southampton, Swanwick Marina which is 46 GBP per night. Are there any other places within the Southampton area that is substantially cheaper? I rather spend the money on extra gear than a fancy birth.

I will be taking the boat across to France as quickly as possible. But I will want to spend a few days checking out the systems and testing before I take her across the channel.

Also any tips on which insurance companies I should get quotes from would be great. I have tried GJW and Topsail

Thanks for the suggestion. I will consider this. Only downside is I will have to buy a tender much sooner.
