Cheap Build Environment?

I'm toying with the idea of building my own cat; but I don't want to pay for an expensive build environment, when the boat will be expensive enough.

What would be ideal is to rent a piece of unimproved land, right on the water, and pitch a tent on it, while I do my build. I've also been toying with the idea of building the hulls "vertically" like in a grain-silo, or scaffolding/crane type of arrangement, to keep the property costs down.

I need the same thing. I have a bunch of work to do on a cat. I have another friend who needs to do work on a cat.

Maybe somewhere in the States? All 3 boats together? Go in on the land?

You'd have immediate access to lots of marine things easily here too.
