Cellular Service Newfoundland??

How good is the cellular service around the Island of Newfoundland, Canada? Is the island so remote that I need SAT service for phone and internet, or can I get by on my TMobile unlimited data plan? We need service for weather, text and occasional calls.

Not sure what Canadian provider is affiliated with T-Mobile, but I loose cell service once I get away from the near shore.

Unfortunately, I’m the wrong guy to ask about that. I’m a newbie here as well. All I’ve seen is part of the Bay of Islands, the Corner Brook marina, and parts of this city. I haven’t even got off the dock yet this season (I really do move slow ;-) ). Other than the obvious touristy places (which are not your typical touristy place) like Gros Morne and L'Anse aux Meadows (viking sites), I’m not sure what to tell you. There are folks on here like Hpeer who have circumnavigated the island. I bet he could offer real advice.
