Buyer's Broker for Charter Cat?

Has anybody used a buyer's broker when purchasing a charter fleet yacht?

I was wondering if this would be prudent.

I don't find a lot of 'value add' in a buyers broker. The benefit I see is:

1) If you really don't have the time to look

2) If you're looking at boats in far away locations (but this would really limit you to searching in only that brokers geographic location)

3) If the broker were actually travelling around and looking at boats on your behalf to save you the time (again, you limited in the geographic location).

4) If you really don't know what you're looking for, looking at, or are generally not familiar/comfortable with the boat buying process.

IMHO Yachtworld has really taken a lot of the benefit out of getting a buyers broker.

I know what boat I want, and where to locate it....Negotiating a price is the main issue for me. Without KNOWING what comparable cats have recently sold for, I would be negotiating in the dark.

I will also admit I suck at negotiating. I always pay too much for everything. Just ask anybody who has ever shopped overseas with me.
