Brisbane to Geraldton - November / December 2011

We are purchasing a secondhand 44 roberts and need to get it to WA as soon as we can so it's either across the top and hope we make it before the cyclone's or across the bottom. So what is crossing the bottom realy like in summer.Surely it cant be that bad or is risking a early cyclone better. I would like to find some other people and yachts that need to cross at the same time (safety in number's)Any advice welcome..
