boatyard / marina recommendation in RI or MA

Hello,

I am a new member here... I have my boat on the Chesapeake bay, and am used to afffordable marinas and boatyards on the Eastern Shore of MD. Now I am considering purchasing a boat that is inland in MA. I would need to have it moved to Providence, RI, or Boston, MA, or Eastern CT.
Where would you recommend I take the boat, given your local knowledge? Any affordable marinas and boatyards in the area? I don't need anything fancy...
Would I be correct in assuming New England to be much more expensive than Eastern MD? It's hard to find rate information online... most places don't post it, or make it hard to find... Thanks.

P.S. Looking for an idea on cost of winter storage on a 35' boat.

Around Mystic & New London CT there are quite a few yards, so there may be some price competition. We've gotten a mooring at Noank Shipyard, which seems to have good facilities, but is a distance from stores, if that is important to you. They are partners with Seaport Marine, which is close to downtown Mystic, but you have to go in & out through the drawbridge, which could be a hassle. The other place we've tied up is Mystic Yacht Yard, which is easier to get in & out of, but again not overly close to downtown. You will likely have a car, so distances may not be important for you. In Stonington, Dodson's is the place to go. Prices? You'll have to call and ask each of them. We're in CT on Long Island Sound and pay about $1600 for hauling and winter storage for our 36' boat.

I paid $40/ft in Portsmouth, NH included haul out, pressure wash, jacks, blocks and spring launch. Power near by to top off batteries, etc.

We’ve had good experiences with the Wickford marina. Just south of providence.

How long a period of time does that $40 cover?

Sorry - thought I answered this earlier. Winter storage anytime after Labor Day up until June 15. Then summer storage kicks in.
