By the time I realized Rockhold Creek was going to freeze over, there were no deicers available in the area. Ordered one on Amazon with overnight
shipping. It arrived last night so we went to the marina today. The ice was too thick to break through in order to deploy the deicer. By late next week the ice should be breaking up and I'll go back and set up the deicer.
If a
boat is frozen in a slip for a week and a little, what damage beyond loss of
bottom paint might I expect? I can see the ice nearest the
hull has
paint on it. However, I can see the old
bottom paint on the
hull, so no damage to the
gelcoat. Yet.
