Re: Boat Destroyed Now What?

Delancey, I wish I had some wisdom to offer. I know we all invest so much time, money and even love in our boats and then we feel so personally responsible for their upkeep and their safety. A loss like you and many others are experiencing is no less of a wound to the soul than the loss of a loved one. I can only add my thanks that you are safe and have a place to start over. I admire your empathy for people who have lost even more than you. I believe you have the right attitude to overcome this loss. I too hope you will let us know how you get on and will stay active on the forum. Best wishes to you.

Re: Boat Destroyed Now What?

Arghhhhhh.

She got between the spinning thing and a hard place. It hurts me so much to know this is/was your boat.

If you are into boats, there is nothing that can stop you from finding a new boat one day sooner or later. Boats can be addictive. As someone noted, after such a huge event as Irma, you may be able to pick up something very good, very cheap. Then it is again so much work to get her ready for voyages. But is all this getting boat ready not one of the best parts of the whole folly?

Let us know how things go. You have life, you have friends. I know, I know, it is not shining today. But it will, soon. You have my word.

Hugs to you and to all yours,
barnakiel

Re: Boat Destroyed Now What?

after damages have been incurred in a disaster such as this was, one submits a request to fema for repairs or replacement of home if that is the case, and property. one also submits a request to insurance to report damages and request replacement or repairs.
submit as soon as you know extent of damages and perhaps you will be lucky
or ye can join the rest and just place a gofundme i lost my boat ad in hopes someone will give free dough. there are many of those floating around these days.

3 canes in a row... Is more than a coincidence.....
seems like they come to one territory in batches of at least 3's. I have endured this a couple of times and have the scars to prove it. If a cane hits an unusual place and you are still in business, buy Cane insurance, they will be buddies that follow!
