Maybe we should forward such threads directly to the sailinganarchy forum...they would know how to set such people straight!

The sailing anarchy and boat design net are both clandestinely run by manatees.
I think it is a brilliant idea to forward all posts.

Fine entry, skeg hung rudder, etc. etc. Of course, you're right. But people respond in good faith, to a question asked in good faith. There is a certain kindness in that.

Re: "Bluewater" Boat Threads
Since we're on the topic, sort of:
Why is the boat called " bluewater" but when you're out there and the water comes in over the side it's green?
The only way you could make any of the offshore water I've seen blue is if you put one of those toilet bowl cleaner tablets in it as it sloshes around the cockpit

Yes but he has probably sailed further out than many that see the real blue water.
In some places, blue water is quite close to the shoreline.
It all depends on where you are sailing from.

Yes, there is this (now) strange thing called BOOKS. I often get chastised by even the friendly folks on this forum for having the gall to even suggest it.
I thought you could learn everything there is to know on the internet.
Who knew?

So there's a place out there where water sloshing around your cockpit is blue.
Good to know, Cap'n.
Maybe I'll see it someday.
No sarcasm intended.

Basically, anywhere there is coral sand, sunshine and little runoff from rivers one gets exquisite blues right off the beach. The deep indigo blues of very deep water and high sun angles is harder to find inshore, and I think that color is what the saying refers to. And no, it doesn't look blue when in your cockpit or your sea boots...
Now that that's settled, Boatie, just what is goin' on in your new avatar photo? Even zoomed way in I can't figger out what that dog(?) is doing to that sheep.
I may have to don my Mod hat and condemn your photo as animal porn if you don't explain!

Re: "Bluewater" Boat Threads
Jim that dog is leap frogging over a sheep. Remember Boatman61 is English and a gentleman so he wouldn't treat that sheep like the average Kiwi guy would.
I have met and surveyed a number of yachts for people on this forum who have asked similar questions. We all have to start somewhere and I am sure other forums would get similar repetitive questions. I wonder how often the question "Best car to restore" has been asked?
Cheers
