Batteries / ignition problem

This happens to me quite constantly.

Typical scenario....
After motoring for a long distance (over 3 Hrs) I drop anchor anchor and stop the engine (volvo tmd-22p). If i try to start it again within 20 minutes, there is no response when I turn the key - it seems as if there is no connection between the ignition and the starter motor. The Victron shows voltages above 13v in both banks.

To correct the problem I then switch off and on the 2 battery banks (1 + 3 agm 130ah) and when i turn the key the engine starts normally - problem solved.

I have checked all cables between ignition and starter motor, changed all i could, and still i have the problem...

if I have motored for only a couple of hours this does not happen

Has anyone experienced something similar?

The starter solenoid has become magnetized. When you turn all the power off it de-energizes and then works correctly until it becomes saturated again.

That would make sense......so its just a matter of changing the solenoid......
