Baja HaHa Parade
Is this worth going to see?
I can go watch the parade, pick up some supplies and generally entertain myself for a few hours while hubby is fishing, or I can stay home and prep the handrails for a refresher coat of cetol. If the cruisers aren't going to be entertaining, I would just as soon prep the handrails.

Be on a boat watching other boats or sanding handrails...
Yup - watching other boats...
Bring sandpaper in case it's boring - LOL...

If you enjoy watching crazies partying in boats, I'd say "yes"!
Sort of like watching one of the early Doo Dah parades.

Re: Baja HaHa Parade
Ah yes, I forgot to mention that when I made the original post, it would have been from a fishing pier. However, the fishing trip itself has been postponed, so we are going to take the kayak.
There just isn't enough wind to bother taking the sailboat out: forecast says 2mph until mid afternoon.

Re: Baja HaHa Parade
Na....forget the parade in San Diego.
The real entertainment will be 3 days from this monday when the 140 or so boats are all anchored in Turtle bay! You will have all the classic anchorage entertainment. Separation anxiety cruisers who have to anchor on top of you because its only safe to anchor next to someone else. The first time anchor dance...oh ya...we heard a wife announce to the Ha-ha fleet that this was their first time anchoring, so could anyone give some advice. And then the classic, I can't find my boat at night after the beach party because all the 140 anchor lights look the same,...oh the fun and stories the Ha-ha generates.

Re: Baja HaHa Parade
Greenhand,
Your own boat comes first, besides, watching sailboats sail isn't near as much fun as sailing yourself, but 2 knots is unexciting.

It turned out to be too sunny to work on the cetol, but I only stopped by. It was interesting to see sooooo many sailboats out together. Yet another confirmation that I probably don't ever want to participate, but fascinating, nonetheless.

Re: Baja HaHa Parade
The Ha-Ha Parade looks like the Ha-ha Drift...
Hope they get better action outside the markers...
