Back to the Bahamas

I would like to get back into the Bahamas to retrieve a boat from Abaco. Does anyone know what this entails under Covid19? Travel restrictions?

Weíre in the same boat......hah.

As of yesterday evening the requirements for tourists on flights changed slightly.

In this document itís stated that no COVID test will be required for incoming passengers.

https://www.bahamas.com/sites/defaul...-web-july1.pdf

However then this was issued

https://bahamasmarinas.com/procedures-and-protocols/

Looks like a Covid test negative within 10 days of arrival is required.

Re: Back to the Bahamas

Thanks for that info. I had already booked a flight with a small airline and they told me at the time of booking that the virus check was going to lapse at the end of June. I was going to get tested anyway......but the latest info is always welcome.

I have done this trip dozens of times. If I can help anyone, let me know.

This is going to wild! I have a boat waiting in Bimini so I will need a test. Checked locally, while I can get the test, results take ďup to a week.Ē So test on day 1, get results on day 8 and test is invalid on day 11.

This basically gives you 3 days to travel.

Isn't the first one "no test" for arriving commercial passengers (like by airplane) and the second one for people arriving by private boat?

Re: Back to the Bahamas

As a follow up, hereís the latest from the office of the prime minister

Now the timing nightmare begins, getting the swab test results back in time to fly without them expiring.

Oh great

Well, our flight is in December (booked pre-corona), so everything will likely change before that, many times. For better or for worse, who knows

If I could place a wager- if there is no vaccine- my bet would be second spike by then. Fortunately, major carriers are allowing rebooking without penalty.

With COVID, I now drive from St Pete to MIA or FLL and fly out. One less plane, one less airport- two less exposures.

Update ó- spoke to Bahamian consulate in Washington DC. You have 10 days from the date of the results to enter the Bahamas.

Well damn. That would have made our lives less stressful. We took our tests Friday.....hopefully the results come back this week, our flights are in 6 days.
