Some sailors from the
Great Lakes might be familiar with the Yacht Bacchant which was for many years a competitor and occasional winner of the Chicago Mac
Race.
I was priveliged in my youth to sail a couple of very memorable shorthanded deliveries aboard her, did a little bit of
varnish work on her as well. 65 feet of Mahogany with a tiller. Beautiful boat!
While I have known she has been
for sale for a few years now, I was surprised to wake up yesterday and see her here in
NYC. She has been
sold and her new owner is taking her back to
Sweden from whence she came.
