Atlantic 61 /65

Can anyone tell me anything about these boats, build quality, blue water worthy? How do they sail?

They seem to have quite deep keels ranging from 2.4m for the 61 which isnít to bad to 2.9m for the 65. How much of an issue will this be in the Caribbean Bahamas might be an issue I guess! What about the pacific and getting in and out of atols?

Iíve seen a few for sale in Europe and I like the design and they seem to have been maintained quite well but thatís from the write up and some shorty photos. I think they might have been ex crewed high end charter yachts.

Any info would be great. A google search doesnít give me much especially with the name Atlantic!

Thank you in advance.

Re: Atlantic 61 /65

They were built in Greece for the charter market there back in the 80's/90's. I think they are relatively well built boats that withstand charter abuse. As with any mass produced boat, modifications may be required for extended cruising and offshore sailing, but at 60', should be a decent/comfy enough boat to take offshore. As for the draft, yes, 2.9m draft is going to present you with some challenges in the Bahamas.
