Re: As a late starter am I too old to do serious cruising?

My friend just completed a triathalon and was one of the first finishers. She's 62. Still plenty of time for sailing. Welcome aboard matey.

Congratulations you are not going to be chasing a tiny white ball around manmade gardens...
there is a zen.. or peace or oneness with nature - earth- higher power.. or what ever or however you can describe it .....with being under sail..

Just finished reading the story of Harry Heckel, who completed a solo circumnavigation at the age of 89...

Once again proving, you are only too old when you BELIEVE that you are too old!

Whew. I'm glad to hear this. I'm about to turn 65 and have been refitting a 30 year old catamaran on a tropical island for the past three years. Glad to hear we're both not too old to sail.
