Aries Lift Up Vane Part Needed ! Cross-Tube Casting

Hi, anyone have the Aries Lift Up Vane Cross Tube Casting (#222, aka the aluminum hinge piece that mounts to the boat via posts). PLEASE let me know, I cant find it anywhere and have tried Helen with no response via email/phone.

Maybe someone has a parts vane and can sell me the piece. I'm in MD, USA. Thanks!

Re: Aries Lift Up Vane Part Needed ! Cross-Tube Casting

wind vane">Aries Wind Vane systems are now manufactured in Denmark by a chap called Peter Mathieson, and he will supply the hinge and/or the rudder as spare parts. I bought both about two years back, the hinge was 250 euros, and a rudder 270 euros. Aries

I'm not sure, but I don't think Helen is trading any more, when I last spoke with her she only had a few miscellaneous items left to clear.

Hope this helps?

Re: Aries Lift Up Vane Part Needed ! Cross-Tube Casting

Still haven't heard back from the folks in Denmark, and still looking for the Aries Lift Up part #222, the cross tube casting.

Just to clarify, this is the older vane, made in england. The hinge part that I need is not the newer hinge that you use with a boat hook, but rather from the older vane that lifts up the entire vane...

anyone able to help me out here??? thanks!

I did understand that Miggim, mine is also an older style vane gear built in England, and the Danish made hinge fits without modification and works perfectly.

I will send you Mathieson's email address by PM.

Re: Aries Lift Up Vane Part Needed ! Cross-Tube Casting

Hi everyone,
I just heard back from Peter M. in Denmark, and he no longer has the part that I need, the cross-tube casting. So I am back on the part hunt. I will try Helen again, if I can get through....

I'm still hoping that someone will have this part that they can sell me from an old lift up vane (#222).... anyone????
