Anybody been to Las Perlas, Panama?

Hi,
I'm planning a trip and it includes sailing the Las Perlas islands in Panama, on my way to the Galapagos. I don't know what time of year to plan the Las Perlas portion of the trip. Suggestions?

Gracias,
Nic

I reckon the best time is just before the Galapagos portion of the trip ; )

I realise I sound like I am being a smart arse but I think the pacific leg kind of dictates the the timing. Not sure about all seasons but I have been there in early dec and April and they were both great , great place pretty remote feeling , Huge tides

I am jealous as hell! Enjoy

Rainy season, late May early June thru Nov.Mid Dec thru March best overall weather. Perlas islands common destination for local sailors on the Pacific side. Taboga is nice stop as well. Ferry to the mainland twice a day.

smart arse -- that's my kinda speak! ;-)
thanks for the tip, it actually makes sense and is helpful. I wouldn't mind getting into Las Perlas and waiting around awhile until the weather for the Pacific passage south was suitable. I'm not much for sticking to itineraries.

Re: Anybody been to Las Perlas, Panama?

So for sunny weather, good for diving and being in the sun, I should plan to get there between December and March?
I've also been looking at sailing on the Caribbean side of Panama (such as the San Blas Islands), but the good sailing weather window seems to be a lot smaller. Are conditions generally better on the Pacific side?

Sorry if these are stupid questions... neophyte sailor here.

Best time - anytime you can to the Perlas - since it's a short hop from the CZ.

Galap - Winter: Nov-Apr it's an easy jaunt but be aware of the $100 pp entry into the National Parc. They collect it in Customs and stamp your passport showing it was paid. Make sure they stamp it, otherwise you'll be charged again. And, it's cash only.
