Anti Piracy Measures

Hi,
Looking at sailing my 38' Island Packet from Honolulu to Spain, stopping at Tomil, Micronesia, then continuing via Singapore, Sri Lanka and the Horn of Africa. Well, that's the plan anyway!

I'm wondering how anti-pirate forces operate and how a sailing boat might get some protection on these seas?

Re: Anti Piracy Measures

You are covering a lot of water. While there are some formal government activities for convoying and monitoring vessels in passage, there would be nothing for that complete route. Your embassy in each area would know what, or if, is available on each segment. Boats sometimes form private convoys for added security, but hiring professional help would probably be incredibly expensive. Generally? Go fast, go silent, keep far off, and set up a radio security check-in schedule is about all you can do.
