Android 8 - GPS Turns off when screen turned off

When the screen is off after about an hour Android turns the GPS off to save the battery and you lose a fix in what ever apps you have running - Navigation/Anchor Alarm etc. There are no settings to stop this within Android!



There are plenty of apps that state they will fix this for earlier versions of android, but I have not found one that works with version 8.



Anyone found a fix for this that works in Android 8?

If you are charging while using the phone you can enable Stay Awake while Charging in Developer options. If you don't have those enabled you can follow these steps:

How to enable Developer options in Android
If using stock Android, go to Settings > About phone > Build number. On a Samsung Galaxy device, go to Settings > About device > Build number. ...
Tap Build number seven times. ...
Go back to Settings, where you'll find a Developer options entry in the menu.

I use GPS Keeper Lite on my Galaxy S9 with the latest Android 8 update.

Thanks I'll give it a go - Looks like that may be the only option as I have found nothing else so far
