searon, a few words of caution ...... methylated alcohol and denatured alcohol are two different products.

Methylated is poisonous. CH3OH - do not try to drink (hahaha) or even inhale it!!!! However, the denatured ... hmmmm C2H5OH .... depends on colour and taste it is sold under different brand names such as .... vodka, cognac, whisky .... and even our sailors rum. Any thoughts???

If I am not right let someone correct me.

I have an origo alcohol stove which I use to cook and heat my boat. Here in Canada I use Methyl Hydrate and have had no bad side effects and am actually surprised at the efficiency of the unit using this , cheap safe ,odorless product.

I guess I can buy that at an RV or boat store. Any ideas about refridgerators? Our old RV had a propane fridge. I still haven't figured out this one on my 77 Sea Ray.

I buy methyl hydrate at the local hardware store for about 3-4 $ for 4 liters(about a gallon). I don't need a fridge. I use a 5 day cooler with a frozen 4 liter water container in it and another cooler for drinks. Although...I always have the best filter coffee available and little Ultra Heat Treated milk boxes which last 3 months without refrigeration. I live differently on the boat and enjoy it!

Thanks for the info. I'll try the methyl hydrate. Yea, the coolers sound like a better idea. I can use the ol fridge for a small dry goods pantry. Hope to get out soon. Little by little, Im getting closer.
