Air Chute?

I've seen a couple of these on some ads... but looking for link or a manufacturer of this type of thing. It's a chute that you attach to your forestay and it funnels fresh air in the foredeck porthole as it fills with wind while moored or at anchor, to get a constant breeze through your boat. Anyone know of anything like this? Anyone got a link to someone selling them?

Thanks,
beta.

Use the search term "wind scoop" and you will get a lot of hits. There are a lot of different systems out there. I have some simple foldable cloth ones on wooden poles that work wonderfully well but need to be removed in squalls in order to close the hatches. There are some systems out there which can keep water out as well.

Some will only work when there's something directly above to tie to, while others are free-standing. Some have insect screens.

I'm no good with links but: -
Go to Plastimo - European Leader for Boat equipment - 'our products' then 'deck fittings' and the last item on the list is 'wind scoops' . They're available throughout Europe and I assume they've outlets your side of the pond too.

Yep; their website identifies several US/Canadian/Carib dealers

I tied a line from mast to forestay, and hung my scoop. It makes a huge difference in comfort.............

We use a Breeze Booster. It supports itself, and you can rotate it to face into the wind if you're in a slip. It can be collapsed and brought inside the boat by reaching through the hatch from inside the cabin, so you don't have to go on deck when the rain starts.
