I kind of figured that after a couple of weeks without a comment that very few on this forum would think an old Colin Archer to be of much use for a long
cruise.
The nay-sayers have little idea of just how good they are for such a voyage.
You litterly can load tons of stuff aboard without much effect.
In a decent breeze they'll roll along in comfort at good speed.
There are many instances when those boats were in
service that they would
work to
weather in a gale while towing smaller
fishing boats to
safety.
A pic in a book I had showed 5 reef points in the
mainsail.
