8 meter beam, 25' beam, what inland waterways in Europe are accessible?

My girlfriend asked a question I couldn't answer today.

She was curious what inland waterways we could navigate with our catamaran in Europe.

We have an 8meter/25foot beam. Are there some nice, wide open, navigable rivers we could do that bring us deeper into the continent?

I know the network of small canals are out.

Start in Rotterdam and you can go to Switzerland up to the rapids. Enjoy.

Great!! That's a long stretch. Is there an intersection with the Danube? My connection is quite slow and not loading the maps.

The famous sailor and author, Tristan Jones, wrote a book about taking his trimaran from Amsterdam to the Black Sea. Quite an adventure story one should read.

There is also an older book written by an American I think it is called Sailing Across Europe.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...-across-europe

Both of these books deal with negotiating the Rhine river, the Mainz-Danube Canal also called the King Ludwig canal, I think.

If you read and sail, I think you will really enjoy these books.

Trollhätte Kanal, starting in Gothenburg, Sweden is 13.2m at it's narrowest point (the locks, that is, the canal is mostly river and much wider). Takes you to lakes Vänern, a pretty large lake.

Google is your friend.

This link will download a pdf of European waterways. With 8m beam you can navigate class III or higher waterways.

There could be a problem with a height limit, not the beam. Mast should be put down, for most routes.
Volgobalt opt to go from Baltic to Black sea. Belomorkanal from White sea to the Baltic. We made the last on the ride from Krasnoyarsk to St.Petersburg

It would appear Google is more your friend than mine!

I was not able to find this particular and very useful map.

Thanks!!! This is basically all the information needed.

Mast will be down for these trips.
