53 ' Skookum Feedback?

We are looking into purchasing a 1977 53' skookum pilothouse, any information about these boats would be great, price, problems, pros/cons. We hope to go on an extended voyage with 3 kids. How would these boats compare either to a Bruce Roberts ? or a 48' Maple Leaf center cockpit same vintage? All responses very much appreciated.
