1995 Hunter 430

I have been looking for a production boat for a few years........toronto, buffalo, florida, Mass, etc.......I have spent some money on surveys and then declined because the issues were big.....
I guess what I am trying to say I have looked at alot of boats in the last couple of years in the $120,000.00 range.....(bennys and hunters) and we have seen alot of boats that we feel are not worth it....

I ended up purchasing a 1995 Hunter 430 that we put on offer on 20 monthes ago......they declined the offer and I walked.......two weeks ago we decided to go back and veiw the boat, and hit him with a chirstmas offer................they took it, and we couldnt be happier........

it will need alot of money and work to get this boat sailing

Navicula is mine and it is so close to home

congratulations on your new boat! And on your extreme patience! 20 months has got to be some kind of record for counter offers.

I am looking at the very same boat right now. Any chance we could chat? I would appreciate your thoughts and an opportunity to ask some questions. Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks!

I've owned a 1996 Hunter 430 for a couple of years and know that boat inside and out. If you need any advice or have any questions, let me know. It's an outstanding boat for the money!

How bad does the liner restrict access for you?

Re: 1995 Hunter 430

the liner (head line or bottom bildge area)has not been a problem............there is access to the existing wiring and tankage.....I have not been behind the fridge or freezer. and I have added some new 4 inch access holes in the medicine cabinets to check the plumbing...(they work very well)

I would assume that there are areas more difficult but I have not been there yet

I have had a 97 for 3 years and love it. Have a few mods on mine, new vitrifridgio freezer and fridge, boom furler, etc.

Re: 1995 Hunter 430

Hi, I have a simila story.
I saw SABAI SABIA September 2017, she was moored in Montenegro, which in the greater scheme of things, isn’t too far from the UK - where I am moored.
I wanted her but the purchase depended on the sale of my house going through - which it didn’t. Luckily neither did the 430 and it was on sale agin at at about $15k US less than tho original asking price. So now she is mine :-)
She is now moored in Korcula in Croatia and I haven’t seen her since we moved her there in September 2018. I have to get there soon as I have some issues to deal with - the main one being the blocked up heads! I think this is going to be a mucky one to resolve. The next is the refrigeration, it’s working but not as it should.
I see you have made quite a fe posts, looking forward to -long through them.
Do you have any advice on the above?

Re: 1995 Hunter 430

Hi Hogfighter,
I have just bought myself a 1997 Hunter 430 and you like to take you up on your offer of advice, if you don’t mind.
Both heads are blocked, no amount of acid will clear them, pumping and prodding don’t help either.
I am guessing the holding tanks are blocked up. I picked her up from Montenegro and moved her to Croatia (I am in the UK) but didn’t have a lot of time to investigate the problem - I couldn’t make head nor tail of the pipe work, so will be going there soon with an endoscope to trace the layout so I know where I am. Unfortunately the User Manual is not that much help in his respect.
Any ideas as to how I should go about resolving this issue - I know it’s likely to be a mucky job.
