West Palm Beach, Fl - Georgetown, Bahamas route planning advice

Hey everyone. We are returning to the Bahamas this year for a full season of cruising down south. Last year we crossed over from West Palm Beach and sailed down to Georgetown via the Abacos and Eleuthera. We did this in Nov/Dec and were told it would be smarter to head for the Exumas at that time of year and visit Eleuthera and Abacos when we return north.

Our boat is Indiantown, Fl.. Do any of you have route suggestions that you enjoyed and why? Our boat is a Catalina 34 Tall Rig. We draw 5 foot 7 (we say 6 feet).

I'd go Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau in one run, about 27-33 hours or so with favorable conditions, and clear customs. Then Nassau to Highbourne Cay and from there down the Exumas.
