West Cost FL to Houston - Advice Requested
Making my first crossing from FL to Houston over the next week or so in my new (to me) boat.

Can you guys provide some wisdom on the journey and if departure location matters much. Is there really a difference in leaving from Key West, Tampa or in between? Any other advice for the journey?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
