Warmer in the Bahamas

A much better season this year. Compared with last year it's night and day. Much warmer, few cold fronts. Swimming without a wetsuit, which is unusual for me.

Cleaning conch in Normans Cay.

Excellent weather news and a beautiful photo, but all should be aware that the January 12th, 2007 amendment to the sportsfishing regulations states that no conch can be harvested by non-bahamians.

We are having the coldest winter in over 25 years here in Sint Maarten. It struggles to get over 84 degrees. Weather has been perfect.

Hey, Thanks for the update concerning the conch regulations, Ram & GordMay. I had no idea that conch was back on the available list for foreign boaters. So, Vasco's conch cleaning photo shows total compliance with the Bahamian Fisheries regulations. I'm always in need of updates!

Even up in the Abacos it's swimming weather. The wind even comes from the south much of the the time. Makes me wonder if I lost track of time and it's really summer.

Re: Warmer in the Bahamas

His catch is legal as long as it doesn't exceed the number and minimum size limit AND it was not taken inside the Land and Sea Park. The line runs just between Norman's Cay and Shroud Cay.

I was in the Bahamas in 2001, 2007 and again in 2011. The fish stocks in the protected, and policed, areas do benefit. As tempting and easy as it might be to sneak over the line, we do the Bahamians and ourselves a disservice by doing so.

Good fishing and fair winds.
