Trinidad/Grenada Affordable Boat Storage?

We're looking for an affordable yard to haul out and leave the boat for the summer of 2025. I'm guessing Trinidad will be less expensive but Trinidad's yards don't show the rates on their websites. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Re: Trinidad/Grenada Affordable Boat Storage?

I've kept my boat at Tyrell Bay on Carriacou in the past and it is quite affordable. They did suffer damage this year from the extraordinary hurricane Beryl but will be back with space available in 2025. If you have boat insurance you might not be able to use Grenada next year, as I'm fairly certain the insurance companies will shift their southern boundaries for the "zone". When that becomes the case, Trinidad will be full-up as their infrastructure isn't sized to accommodate that number of vessels.

Re: Trinidad/Grenada Affordable Boat Storage?

Years ago I would leave my boat at Power Boats in Trinidad. Less glamorous than Peakes, but really liked being there when we returned and stayed on the boat for a week or so before launch. Good selection of contractors, yard is clean and we never had any problems with security.

What keepondancin said. We had our boat on the hard at Powerboats for hurricane season last year and have only complements. Well organized, great choices of contractors, and a good support network of fellow cruisers. Check here for prices:. https://powerboats.co.tt/2024-3/.
